I was born in New York and began taking painting lessons in the mid-fifties with Giuseppi Trotta, one of the foremost painters of the American School, at his studio in Flushing, New York.

The walls of Joseph's home were lined with his landscape paintings; each capturing my attention at every visit. His use of light and color had a great influence on me during the years that I studied with him.

In high school my art teacher Bill Thom further nurtured my talent. I was graduated with honors receiving the St. Gaudens Medal for my artistic accomplishments.

Later, I continued my studies at the New York School Of Visual Art, the Pan America Art School and at the Greenwich Village studio of artist Sylvia Applezweig, whose vast knowledge of art strengthened my drive to paint.

In the early seventies I was represented by Shirley and Leon Reece, now the Reece Galleries and in the mid seventies an article was written in the publication, ArtSpeak about my painting "The Birth".

Today I am an active member of the art community where I now live in northern California. Here I am inspired by the landscapes that I paint in my own ever-evolving style and technique.
